Ad Hoc sessions

 

Affective Disorders: (MRI) You will be introduced to a case and view the patient's notes. Following this you will sit in while the consultant interviews the patient. You will join the MDT meeting to discuss the patients treatment options, and then join the consultant as he feeds this information back to the patient. Library: There are library facilities available on the 2nd Floor of the Rawnsley Building at the MRI, on the Ground Floor of the ERC at Wythenshawe (0161 291 5778) and in the Postgraduate Centre at North Manchester.   These are in addition to the facilities at the Education South Centre at the MRI
Memory Clinic: (Laureate House) You will join the MDT discussion/meeting where patients prognosis, test results, treatment etc are discussed.  For more information or to book a place please contact Geraldine on 0161 291 6942. Sessions are held on Friday mornings, two students may attend.
Liaison Psychiatry: (Park House) You will join the SpR in the Rheumatology clinic on a Wednesday morning 10.00am to 12 .00pm where you will gain an insight into liaison psychiatry.To book a place please contact Karen Marsh (Dr Longson's secretary) on 0161 720 4867
Early Intervention Service - Laureate House. To sit in on outpatient appointment on Tuesday 13.30pm to17.00pm. Will sit in on two new patient appointments where new referrals are assessed for suitability and two follow up appointments.  Contact Nicola Bowles on 0161 277 6845 or nicola.bowles@rdash.nhs.uk to book in and ensure clinic is running.  Will accept only one medical student at a time.
